A choice that comes to everyone
Computing can become a great career choice. There comes a time when everyone has to make a choice of the career that they will be doing for the rest of their lives. In fact I am getting way ahead of myself. It is no longer possible to claim that you are going to have a career for life. People continue to be very flexible in their working patterns and will change jobs at a drop of a hat if they believe that there are better opportunities elsewhere. Computing is one of those career prospects that are quite amenable to the reality of changing priorities and cultures within the business environment.
That fact that the skill of computing is portable means that most employers are very happy to consider candidates who have a proven experience of working with computers. In fact there are some jobs which will

Finding a language with which to teach and learn
I have a feeling that computing has concentrated on modern languages as a means of learning. This is part of the cultural imperialism that started in the nineteenth century. In short people have to first learn modern languages before they can learn the mechanics of computing. This appears to me to be fundamentally wrong because it excludes people who may not have modern language skills but they do indeed have the will and the desire to excel in computing.
Anything that limits the number of people who have a skill is not a welcome development. To this end I have come up with some of the ways in which the computing community can provide a platform for other languages to be used so that people are not excluded from the computing evolution that is developing in the world.

An option that you cannot afford to neglect
Many colleges these days offer computing as one of the premium courses that you could add to course list. However there are some people who neglect it as and option because it might not be as glamorous as some of the science or arts courses. The fact that computing is only beginning to take route in many schools means that it has not yet developed a significant profile that would be able to overcome these prejudices.
In this article we will be examining some of the issues that might arise if you chose computing as subject at secondary school or primary school level. We will also be examining the impact of such a decision on the career paths of young students.
Computing as a subject falls within the sciences but it might not require the laboratory practical facilities that you would need for a

Your job can change beyond recognition
Computing has transformed the role of professionals no matter what disciplines they specialize in. If you take the role of the doctor, it was previously limited to examining patients and prescribing a particular type of medication.
Now they have to think about management information and will have to ensure that they are entering certain details onto the database to enable senior managers to run their monthly reports. For some doctors this is an unacceptable transformation of their old jobs and some decide that the best course would be to change career. Whilst doctors are in demand, most careers and job search engine offers require applicants from all backgrounds and professions to be proficient with the use of computers. The medical profession particularly has developed in a way that the use of computing has become essential.
However to change career because you fear a machine is

The earlier the better
Computing as a skill is best learn when you are still young and have the capacity to absorb different things quickly. Have you ever wondered at the apparent facility with which young people learn new languages? Have you ever wondered why teenagers can text at speeds that would not shame a competitor in an international context?
This all indicative of the kinds of abilities that you have as a young person to acquire skills. It is not just about having innate abilities to do with age. That would be an ageist attitude to take. It is also about responsibilities and the time to do the work that is needed to develop adequate computing skills.
Having IT skills from a young age is becoming increasingly integral to the career successes of today's youth, and allows them to do anything from compose essays with word processors to
